Elan Valley | Community, movement, and wild Mid Wales energy.
Race Around the Lakes is a community running event set in the heart of the Elan Valley — a route carved through sweeping landscapes, forest edges, and the stillness of mirrored water.
Mogwai Media was invited to capture the spirit, scale, and story of this unique event — one that brings together runners of all levels to celebrate nature, movement, and local community.
Our role:
Event Photography
From early-morning nerves to finish-line triumphs, we documented the event as it unfolded — focusing on emotion, environment, and energy. Our photography told the story of the day through movement, light, and the vibrant diversity of those taking part.
Visual Identity & Social Content
We supported the event organisers with brand-aligned photography and social-ready content that reflected the values of the race: community-driven, locally grounded, and joyfully challenging. These assets were used to promote the event and celebrate its success in the aftermath.
This wasn’t just a race — it was a love letter to local landscape and grassroots spirit.
